Karlee's 6!!!!

Karlee has been looking forward to turning 6 for months...she has talked about her birthday and counted down the days about 3 days after she turned five. So, I decided to make the day really special. We started out by waking her up and singing Happy Birthday (Yep...I started crying! It is hard to not celebrate her birthday and not remember the day she was born and the sacrifice Nicole made so that I could be a mommy.) We served her breakfast in bed and she thought it was really cool...but then decided it was a little uncomfortable, so we moved to the kitchen table.
She was pretty excited to see all the presents and so as soon as she was done eating, she got to open them up. She got done eating pretty quickly!
She got princess sheets, new clothes, hair things, night gown and fake nails.
New clothes from Grandpa and Grandma Jensen...she also got a really cute night gown too!
Guess what she tried on first!

After breakfast, we cleaned up and got ready for the day. Her next birthday surprise was getting her hair cut. (Yep, she is my girl! She loves to go to the salon!) She got a really cute hairstyle and even a little glitter sprayed on since it was her birthday.

Afterwards, her friend Alexis came over and we headed to dinner. We went to Chinese of course, and had the Kynaston's and our cousin Neil come with us. We then went back to our house and had cake and ice cream.
Karlee wanted a Barbie cake...somedays I wish my mom could still make me a Barbie cake on my birthday!
Mandie was pretty excited about the Barbie cake too...or maybe it was the frosting. :)

Just before bedtime, I took her aside and told her the story of this day when she was born and the few days following. This has become our tradition for each of the girls on their birthdays. We look at pictures and say a prayer thanking Heavenly Father for sending Nicole and her Mom, Debbie, into our lives. We are blessed!

Karlee had such a fun day and I am so lucky we are the ones with her on this special day!

What a lucky girl! That looks like such an awesome birthday - that starts at breakfast even! And me and your mom love the haircut - tell Karlee.

How wonderful the way a precious little girl will know how special she is and such a blessing to our family.
